Intel Hostes Channel Conference In Mangalore.

Mangalore, Karnataka, 16 November 2011: Intel India, today hosted the Intel Channel Conference (ICC) in Mangalore which was attended by over fifty Intel® Technology Providers from the area. Training on Intel’s product and technology roadmap was given to the technology providers who attended the conference. Besides product training, experts from Intel also shared product integration techniques, sales and marketing tips with the channel partners to enhance customer solutions and identify growth opportunities for their businesses.

Speaking about the conference, Mr. R. Ravichandran, Director, Sales and World Ahead, Intel South Asia said “Intel has a strong and long running membership program that remains the backbone of our channel engagements. The Intel Channel Conference gives us a great opportunity to meet the partners face to face and understand the needs of the local market.”

 Intel launched its channel membership program called the Genuine Intel® Dealer program in 1995. Over the past fifteen years, the program has evolved to keep up with the changing channel dynamics and is now know as the Intel® Technology Provider program with over 20000 technology providers registered across India. These members, depending on their profile of business are categorized as Registered, Gold or Platinum Members. Each of these categories are linked to specific set of benefits to the members like communication, account coverage, training, warranty support, loyalty benefits & marketing program support.

R. Ravichandran, Director, Sales, Intel South Asia also addressed the media to highlight the role of personal computing in the lives of people and outlined several initiatives that Intel is undertaking in the local market.“At Intel, we believe that technology has the power to revamp businesses and transform lives. We are working with the entire IT ecosystem to facilitate the need for widespread technology and internet adoption which can help end the digital divide in India”, said Ravichandran. “We’ve undertaken several initiatives in Karnataka across healthcare, education and citizen outreach to transform lives through technology.”

Local Activities

Intel India also conducts various Computer Melas across the country, helping the Intel Technology Providers leverage Intel’s various personal computing solutions like the Intel® Atom™ powered Net books, 2nd Gen Intel® Core™ processor powered Ultra books, Notebooks, Desktops and All in One PCs. These melas help the Technology Providers in reaching out to potential first time buyers while giving the consumers and potential first time buyers a hands-on PC experience to explore the wonders of the internet. About 20 Computer Melas will be conducted in Karnataka this year reaching out to over 2.4 lakh first time buyers.

In-store training

Intel also does regular in-store & venue based training, as well as online training courses and demos which impart soft skills trainings to Intel Technology Providers and their sales persons, helping them keep abreast of the constantly evolving technology sphere. Through our marketing programs we engage with close to 375 IT resellers across 11 towns in Karnataka.

Intel Technology helps enable healthcare access to people in rural Karnataka

Working with the Government of Karnataka, Intel has successfully put into operation a joint tele-medicine initiative at the Angodu Primary Health Care center and Harihara Taluk Hospital that paves the way for the extension of healthcare benefits to the rural population of Karnataka.  Under this program, Intel provides the necessary technology support in terms of IT infrastructure and offsite technical resources. Other like  minded solution and healthcare providers like Tata Consultancy Services*, HCITedu* and S.N Informatics Pvt Ltd* have also joined this project to enhance the scope of clinical diagnostics.
